Reward charts for children: points and family vouchers
A reward chart links a clear action to a goal chosen together. Start by agreeing what counts as a completed task and what the points can be used for. A few clear rules are easier to follow than conditions that change every evening.
Practical goals that suit your family
‘Put the games back in their boxes’ describes something you can see. ‘Be good all day’ leaves a lot open to interpretation. Choose achievable actions and adjust the difficulty if your child still needs help. Points do not measure a child's worth.
Family voucher ideas that do not involve buying things
- Choose the film for family movie night.
- Pick a board game to play together.
- Make a recipe with a parent.
- Choose a theme for a drawing activity.
- Pick a walk from two possible outings.
Agree together when the voucher can be used. Attention, basic needs and affection should never depend on a points balance.
Make a family voucher easy to use
Write down the activity, its Family Coin cost and when it can happen. For example: “Choose from three films on Saturday evening”. A reward that is too distant or difficult to arrange may disappoint; first check that an adult can help make it happen.
For variety without more purchases: invent a treasure hunt at home, choose music for a journey, make dessert together or have an indoor picnic. Attention and shared time remain available outside the voucher system too.
A forgotten task does not erase what was done
In ELIKHO, an unfinished task does not take away points already earned. Family Coins decrease when spent on a reward. Correcting an approval may remove rewards credited in error: this corrects the record, rather than judging a child’s worth.
How it works in ELIKHO
- A parent sets the tasks and their rewards.
- The child ticks off completed tasks: rewards remain pending.
- A parent checks and approves the day.
- Credited Family Coins can be used to choose rewards in the family shop.
The shop offers personalisation items and family vouchers. Personal and family challenges add goals spanning several days. Wisdom points track progress through the belts.
Family Coins and buying the app are different
Family Coins are virtual points used inside ELIKHO. Unlocking ELIKHO Complete is a purchase in euros in the parent area: €14.99 per platform, with no subscription. See the terms on the Purchases and updatespage. Download links will be enabled when the store listings are public.
Start without overloading the day
Choose a short morning or evening routine, then see whether the chart actually helps your family. If it becomes a source of constant negotiation, simplify it and talk about its purpose together.
